Crosman has introduced a new series of target pistols designed with the competitive shooter in mind. From beginners to experienced marksmen, the Crossman Model 2300S and the 2300T offer many of the features found on a high-end target pistol, but at an affordable price. The new models are the result of Crosman's designers and engineers working closely with some of the top competitive shooters in the industry to develop pistols that are both accurate and adaptable.
According to Bob Soldivera, head of Crosman's shooting services pro staff, the shooting industry has been anticipating these two new pistols. "Competitive shooting is like any other sport. Beginners are its life's blood. Crosman needs to give them the right tools to learn basic skills quickly and build a solid foundation.
The 2300T is exactly what they need. It offers shooting clubs and organizations a competition air pistol designed specifically for teaching and honing skills. "I am particularly impressed with the 2300S. This pistol is ideal for bull's eye shooting and also meets the IHMSA rules for silhouette ‘Production Class’ competition. It carries all the features a top ranked shooter demands, without the high price tag." The Crosman 2300S is a CO2 powered, .177 caliber target pistol designed for extreme accuracy.
It features a 10.1 inch Lothar-Walther choked match barrel with 12 lands and grooves, a barrel commonly used on higher-priced pistols. It has a single-stage trigger, adjustable from one to four pounds and an over travel adjustment screw. The shooter can also adjust the velocity from 440 - 520 feet per second for optimal performance. The 2300S comes standard with a stainless steel bolt for increased accuracy. The 2300S sights are specifically designed for competition. The front sight has a taller post for more adjustability, while the Williams notch rear sight features an internal micrometer adjuster with positive internal locks, for more stability. It also has target knobs for easy adjustment. The receiver is grooved for mounting a scope, making the 2300S perfect for silhouette shooting.
The 2300T, a .177 caliber CO 2air pistol, is designed for beginner to intermediate shooters and is ideal for clubs and organizations. The 2300T target pistol features a 10.1 inch barrel with 10 lands and grooves, a single-stage trigger, adjustable from one to four pounds, an over travel adjustment screw and has a muzzle velocity of 520 feet per second. The rear sight is fully adjustable micrometric with hardened click screws, allowing the shooter to adjust for both windage and elevation. The sighting system also features two white dots on the rear sight that line up with the front post sight. This helps beginners achieve more consistent results.
