Its an enigma, mystery, bewilderment, conundrum, cryptogram, mind-boggler, mind-twister, mystification, puzzlement, puzzler, question, riddle and stumper how Xisico (Bam) can make nearly exact copies of the products of other well known air gun manufacturers and get away with it. After all If you copied a current production Corvette do you think Chevrolet would allow you to sell as many as you wanted?
No matter how you feel about cloning; the truth is the airgun hobby would be diminished if there were no Chinese air guns. The Bam 28 is one remarkable clone. Just in case you thought I mixed up my photos, that air rifle below is not a Diana 350. Its the Diana’s Doppleganger (A double, an identical replica. The idea behind this is that everyone has an identical copy of themselves somewhere in the world) which just happens to be made by Bam Xisico. |
 |
This is not a bad thing because the 28 is a very nice air gun. The fit and finish is quite good and the quality of the wood is pleasing as well. The in letting is also very professional. The plastic parts appear to be of similar quality as the Diana pieces. The checkering on the fore stock and pistol grip also faithfully follow the pattern established by the 350. |

(Bam Xisico Web Site Info.) With pellets screaming out the muzzle at 1,250 fps (.177 cal.) and the with 1000 fps in .22 cal. for Pest control and air gun hunting. This Break barrel air rifle is ideal for hunting, pest control and just about anything you ask it to do.
The Xisico XS-B28 air rifle has a Monte-Carlo Chinese beech stock with raised cheekpiece, checkering on pistol grip and forearm, recoil pad. Trigger force is adjustable. It is well balanced and natural to hold. With only 36 lbs required to cock this powerhouse, you can go hunting for hours. (End Bam Xisico Web Site Info.) |
| The Trigger is a little different in feel than the Diana T05. I adjusted the test rifles trigger a little bit and was able to set it up for a very short fist stage and an extremely crisp and short second. I detected zero creep, it felt more like the trigger on a 10 Meter match gun. The trigger is the best single element on this air gun and if the 28 were not such a close copy of another rifle this review would be all about the trigger and how good it is. I don’t know if I just got lucky or if all 28s have sweet triggers. |
The safety will be familiar to all Diana fans. Its located at the rear of the receiver tube and is made of plastic. Push it in to fire, out for safe and is auto setting at cocking. I like auto setting safeties and I like safeties that you can reset in the field. A useful and smart feature on a field gun, especially one of this power.
Letting off a shot with the 28 is a pleasure. The power plant is strong and surprisingly not very harsh. It lets off with a distinct thrump! and is followed by almost no twang (are these even real words?) The shot cycle is smooth and very reminiscent of the (surprise) Diana 350. I was told the test subject was shooting 14.3 grain domed pellets at about 850 feet per second. That's nearly 23 foot pounds of energy at the chronograph. |

The sights are faithful copies of the Diana globe front and multi click rear. The front features the capability to accept other sight inserts which are not included with the rifle. The one flaw the 28 shares with the 350 is the Diana style scope mounting base. The test rifles scope plate loosened after a couple of shots. I removed the plate, de greased it and remounted it using red loctite. (Cobra is doing this before they ship) No more problems. I did a little shooting with accushot one piece mount supporting a 3x10x42 Nikko Sterling side focus scope and found this Xisico Air guns BAM XS-28 Combo to be well balanced and selling for only $250.99 when the scope sells for $128.99 you are paying $122.00 for the rifle now that a good deal.

If you are looking for a very powerful spring piston air rifle and don’t want to drop a bundle of cash this might fit the bill. If you include a good scope and mounts you are still going to spend less than what it will cost for just the RWS Diana 350 alone. The Diana may be a little more refined but the wood chucks are not going to know the difference. |
